Syclean – Industry demonstrator of how to work towards net zero

The project aims to demonstrate a path to NetZero by showing industry how green production can be achieved. It encourages industry peers to involve everyone in climate work and identify opportunities locally and across the value chain. The project promotes sustainable value chain management through clear targets and metrics, and by managing disruption. It also highlights green design principles in the production system. Using lean action learning and integrating sustainability and resilience research, it supports local innovation and long-term impact.
Initiaitive description
The initiative is based on experiences from several green lean action research based projects in collaboration between MDU, RISE and KTH, and on the Production Leap(PL) platform for coaching and training proffessioonals in industry in transition management, improvements and production innovation.
By using PL lean action learning methodology for training strategic professionals in collaboration and green lean, in the OEM and in the suppliers in the value chain, unnecessary climate affecting losses are identifyed and cost efficient countermeassures are developed.
Project goals
The project is building on the notion that we already have technology in place to reduce energy waste and material waste in the production system to reach 75% lower climate emissions. The problem is the adoption rate and transition costs. By using green lean strategy, engaging everyone, reducing value chain losses, adressng design changes when opportunities arise, and collaborate in the value chain this project aims to demonstrate HOW to take large steps forward towards net Zero.
The project works with one original equipment manufacturer (OEM) based in Sweden and its suppliers and aims to work add two more OEMs and their value chains next year.
